Six for Six
Many Junes ago on Colter's 7th birthday, we took a subway to the Bronx in New York City to watch the New York Yankees play the Kansas City Royals. It was one of Colter's birthday presents. It was his first and only my second game in the old Yankee stadium. It was the teams last year in the House that Ruth built.
The game is memorable, and relevant to this year's GreaterYellowstone Adventure Series races, for a few reasons. First, theYankee's starting pitcher, Andy Petite, gave up 10 runs, but he pitched most of the game. There were a ton of homeruns including a grand slam by a Royals player to tie the game up in the 8th inning. Then, with yet another homerun, the Yankees went ahead by one in the bottom of the 8th so Colter and I had a chance to see the great Mariano Rivera come trotting out from the centerfield bullpen in the top of the 9th to save the day and record yet another save for his Hall of Fame career.
